Our History

Livingston Mechanical Services (LMS) was established in 1992 by the Jamieson family. From this start, the business grew rapidly, and developed a strong reputation for delivering a client focused approach. Initially offering Heating and Ventilation services in Edinburgh and Livingston, the business grew to offer multi-trade mechanical services and to cover all aspects of production across Scotland.

In 2018, having worked with LMS for many years, the Morris family, owners of Morris & Spottiswood, acquired Livingston Mechanical to form ‘Livingston’ a business that brought together the mechanical and production strength of LMS and the electrical expertise of Morris & Spottiswood’s M&E division.

The Morris & Spottiswood M&E division had grown significantly since it was established in 2004, developing relationships and blue-chip clients north and south of the border; combining LMS and M&S M&E has created an M&E business with strength and depth - one that is founded on decades of experience and innovation.

Livingston remains a family business that holds true to the core values that went before. Our values of Aim High, Value People and Act Responsibly are at the heart of everything we do.

In 2019, Livingston invested in a modern, fit-for-purpose and dynamic office and fabrication workshop to provide a workspace environment which matches the skills of our people together with state-of-the-art infrastructure. This has driven the development of modularisation and off-site manufacturing, allowed us to offer full BIM design and modelling and created an environment for our people and clients to thrive and innovate.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to growing a skilled and forward-looking workforce who are able to innovate and improve. We offer the best support and training for our people, and the best solutions for our clients.
